Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil/Earthworks Inspector to join our team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of civil engineering and earthworks projects in the region.

Conduct thorough inspections of earthworks, site preparation, and civil engineering projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and local regulations • Perform quality control checks on materials, workmanship, and construction methods • Monitor and document construction progress, identifying any deviations from approved plans or potential issues • Liaise with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address and resolve construction-related concerns
Prepare detailed inspection reports, including observations, test results, and recommendations • Verify that all work meets health and safety standards and environmental requirements • Attend site meetings and provide technical input on construction matters • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents • Ensure adherence to local building codes and regulations in Saudi Arabia

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field • Minimum of 10 years experience in civil engineering or construction inspection, with a focus on earthworks and site preparation projects • Profound knowledge of civil engineering principles, earthworks, and construction techniques • Strong understanding of quality control and assurance procedures in the construction industry • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications with precision
Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office)
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Saudi Arabia • In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards in construction • Professional certification in construction inspection (e.g., NICET, RICS) is preferred • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work efficiently and remain organised in a fast-paced environment • Willingness to work on-site in various weather conditions
