Role Purpose

The Senior Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and validating detailed cost estimates for civil or MEP construction projects. The role ensures that proposals are competitive, accurate, and aligned with company strategy. The position requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to mentor junior staff, provide strategic input during tendering, and actively engage in value engineering and cost optimization discussions.

Key Accountabilities

Review and interpret tender documents, drawings, and specifications to extract cost-related data.
Lead the preparation of BOQs and detailed cost estimates for civil or MEP works.
Evaluate, validate, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, structural, and MEP) to ensure accurate quantity surveying.
Support preparation and review of technical and financial proposals.
Participate in tender clarification meetings and provide technical/financial recommendations.
Contribute to and sometimes lead value engineering initiatives and cost benchmarking exercises.
Maintain and update estimation records, databases, and pricing libraries.
Provide guidance and technical support to junior estimation engineers when required.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 4 years of experience in civil or MEP estimation - Tendering.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and related estimation tools.
Strong knowledge of civil and MEP construction practices, methodologies, and market pricing.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and make informed estimation decisions.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and teamwork capabilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
