Job Description

Job Title: Renewable Energy Technical Asset Manager

Job Purpose

Renewable technical asset management tracks and manages a physical plant Asset, that is Solar PV plant through all the stages of its life cycle. Successful renewable asset management ensures the seamless collection of all data, documents, milestones, and events for the lifecycle of this asset.

Responsibilities:

During the construction stage:

  • Following up the Plant during its construction stage progress to get technically familiar with the plant equipment, structure and operation.
  • Participate in the testing and commissioning process of the plant
  • Monitor and supervise the handover between the EPC contractor and the O&M contractor including the demobilization of the EPC contractor and the mobilization of the O&M contractor.

During the Operation Phase

  • Ongoing supervision and technical management of infrastructure assets and maximizing the value of the asset. Optimizing all elements of the asset commensurate with the appropriate risk profile.
  • Organizing and implementing a technical management plan that meets the objectives of the project planned performance. Monitoring and analyzing the key performance indicators of the asset.
  • Follow up the asset Operation and maintenance contractor activities in site. Ensure the contractor fulfillment of the O&M scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance. Modify the O&M plan from time to time to meet the asset best performance. Ensure the availability of the necessary spare parts needed for the seamless operation of the asset.
  • Understand and follow up the LTSA / O&M contract and ensure the O&M contractor fulfillment of its contractual obligations.
  • Technical reporting to investors and participate in internal review process to report on the current and forecast performance of asset.
  • Provide support to project staff, if needed to resolve appropriate project, regulatory, contractual or commercial issues.
  • Participate in project, contractor(s) and off taker meetings, conferences and discussions to assure active involvement in the asset's affairs.
  • Support investment team in activities related to valuation and acquisition of assets and support client solutions team in activities related to fund raising and communication

Qualification & Education:

Education: Bachelor's degree in ELECTRICAL engineering PREFERABLY Renewable Energy

Years of Experience: Asset Management experience from 3 years of experience in Renewable to Energy, Project Development.

Language: Fluent English and French is preferred.

Computer skills: Microsoft office.

Technical and professional competencies:

  • From 1 to 3 years of energy and/or technical experience and / or renewable energy asset management experience. Graduate degree in engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of BESS, wind or solar power assets, life-cycle analysis, operational requirements, safety and compliance requirements: effective management practices, planning, and budgeting.
  • Fluent in English and French; other languages would be a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Strong technical acumen with strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities, with a strong focus on results and outcomes
