About the Role
Associate - Investments of investment portfolios, including the analysis of investment opportunities, performance reporting and monitoring, market and industry analysis, analysing portfolios, investment selection, apply asset allocation strategies and investment selection.
Responsibilities
- Together with Manager - Investments, responsible for investment opportunities assessments, execution of investments and portfolio monitoring
- Perform activities with focus on market research, financial modelling, valuations, due diligence, investment structuring, legal framework review, negotiations and other related activities
- Provide analytical and research support in the analysis of listed equity, fixed income, real estate, private equity, alternative investments, funds and direct investment opportunities across an array of investment types, strategies and sectors
- Construct, review and maintain financial models for existing and potential investments
- Monitor performance of existing portfolio companies and asset classes, and analyze future investment opportunities
- Perform valuation, investment return and sensitivity analysis
- Perform performance analysis, market analysis, monitor and upload system inputs, evaluate system outputs, and create custom reports
- Maintain and build systems infrastructure Excel spreadsheets
- Assist with investment committee presentation preparation
- Participate in special projects on an ad-hoc basis
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Business
- Significant progress toward CFA, MBA or another credential relevant to investment management strongly preferred
Required Skills
- 6 - 8 years of work experience, minimum 4 years of recent work experience in asset/investment management, corporate finance, equity research or investment banking
- Advanced MS Excel including experience modelling transactions, Word, Power Point, professionalism with applications used for business and industry research such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters and Rifinitiv Eikon
- Business Fluent English (mandatory)
- Arabic (preferred)
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in investment management with multi-strategy and multi-asset class investment mandate
- Knowledge in investor relations, sustainability and ESG reporting is preferred
