About the role

This job opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about contributing to an well-established Y Combinator startup and enjoy building products from the ground up to make them successful.

FinFlx is seeking a Backend Engineer to join its core backend team which is based in Egypt.

The ideal candidate should be a product-oriented individual with strong Java skills and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment to create scalable systems for our rapidly expanding investment product.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop features and improvements to the FinFlx core platform's microservices in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
• Write reusable code and APIs (Java Spring Boot, Python) that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a secured financial platform environment
• Implement unit, component and BDD tests
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Participate in the elaboration of feature designs (RFCs)

Qualifications

About you

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar
• 3-5 years experience working as backend engineer

Must have

• Strong Java expertise (3y+)
• Strong Spring Boot expertise (3y+)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture
• Experience working with Containers and Kubernetes
• Experience in BDD test framework
• Positive and solution-oriented mindset
• An inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility
• Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills

Nice to have

• Advanced Python experience (2y+)
• Experience in the Terraform IAC framework
• Experience in AWS or any other public cloud technologies
