Role Objectives
The Category Manager is responsible for driving the commercial performance of assigned categories through effective assortment management, pricing execution, promotional planning, supplier management, and data-driven decision making to achieve revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver category revenue, profitability, and growth targets through effective commercial execution and supplier management.
- Execute category strategies and plans aligned with the overall commercial direction and business objectives.
- Analyze customer insights and market trends to identify opportunities that improve category performance and customer satisfaction.
- Manage pricing and promotion to incentivize trial and build retention
- Project and measure category sales and KPIs. Regularly share category performance with cross-department groups to align on opportunities for growth and improvement
- Work with supply & demand teams to create forecasts for new products volumes and to ensure product availability at all times
- Collaborate with marketing teams to inform new product launch campaigns as well as ongoing marketing for the category
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to provide recommendations that support category growth.
- Partner with Sourcing, Procurement, QA and Ops on any product issues, excess inventory or inventory shortages and address in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Category Manager or a similar role
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
- Strong negotiation skills
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- High organizational skill
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- MS Office proficiency
