The Director for the Student Experience will successfully partner across Northwestern Qatar, Northwestern University, Qatar Foundation, and Education City peer universities to remove barriers, improve collaboration, foster inclusion, and streamline processes that lead to a greater student-centered university experience. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for the Student Experience.
The incumbent leads the Student Experience team in the planning, formulating, and implementation of programs that facilitate the personal and professional development of students outside of the classroom. The Director will lead initiatives in all aspects of the student experience to include orientation, new student programs, international experiential education, career services, mental health, and student conduct. The Director will support accurate and consistent reporting of statistical information for internal and external use in order to conduct evaluations of the effectiveness of programs designed to enhance the student experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic plan that ensures resources are utilized and operationalize goals and objectives in accordance with Northwestern Student Affairs assessment and planning.
- Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to establish policies, procedures, and practices that enhance the student educational journey, and alumni engagement.
- Lead and mentor Student Experience staff in developing and implementing industry-leading co-curricular programs.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators, and appropriate assessment procedures to evaluate programs through satisfaction, performance, and learning outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the support and education to students involved in campus conduct matters.
- Manage Student Experience office operations and staff activities
- Communicate with NU-home campus personnel as appropriate
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)
- A master's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
- Five or more years experiemce, preferably in student affairs.
- Familiarity and background working with students from the Middle East
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively one-to-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)
- Doctoral Degree in Education, Leadership, Student Affairs or related field.
- Working knowledge of student development theories and other proven measures of individual holistic development.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing educational programs in co-curricular settings.
The target hiring range for this position will be between $88,00 to $125,000 per year. The offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
