Job Description

The Electroplating Technician is responsible for performing metal coating processes using electrochemical techniques to enhance corrosion resistance, aesthetics, and physical properties of metal parts.

Key duties include:

1.Metal Surface Preparation:

-Clean metal parts by degreasing, removing dirt, and oxides using chemical solutions and mechanical methods.

-Perform surface treatments such as pickling, sandblasting, or acid activation.

2.Operating Electroplating Tanks:

-Adjust chemical bath concentrations and operating conditions (temperature, current, time).

-Perform zinc plating for rust protection.

-Conduct tin plating for electronic and food-grade applications.

-Execute nickel chrome plating for decorative and wear-resistant finishes.

3.Quality Control & Process Adjustment:

-Measure plating thickness using coating thickness gauges.

-Test adhesion and durability according to industry standards.

-Identify defects (pitting, uneven coating, discoloration) and correct them.

4.Maintenance & Safety Compliance:

-Maintain plating equipment and clean tanks regularly.

-Follow safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals.

-Dispose of chemical waste in compliance with environmental regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

-Diploma or certification in chemical engineering, metallurgy, or a related field.

-Previous experience in electroplating (especially zinc, tin, and nickel chrome).

-Knowledge of plating chemicals (acids, cyanides, electrolytes).

-Ability to read technical instructions and adjust process parameters.

-Adherence to industrial safety standards (PPE: gloves, goggles, masks).
