Job Description

Role Purpose

Lead and oversee all financial reporting, accounting, treasury, tax, compliance, financial controls, and finance operations for the business. Ensure accurate financial reporting, strong governance, liquidity management, and strategic financial support to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting, statutory accounts, consolidations, audits, and IFRS compliance.
  • Manage tax compliance, corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and tax optimization initiatives.
  • Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Support capital investment decisions, CAPEX governance, and project financial controls.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, lenders, joint venture partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead and develop the finance team while driving process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the CFO and Board on major business decisions.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Fully qualified CA, ACCA, or CMA certification.
  • Minimum 13–15 years of progressive finance experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership role such as Finance Controller, Head of Finance, or Deputy CFO.
  • Direct experience in the Oil & Gas sector (Upstream and/or Midstream) – mandatory and non-negotiable.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 6, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 36, and petroleum industry accounting practices.
  • Experience in financial reporting, treasury, tax, internal controls, and audit management.
  • Experience with production sharing agreements (PSA/PSC), joint operating agreements (JOA), concession agreements, and petroleum fiscal regimes.
  • Experience in commodity hedging, foreign exchange risk management, and reserves-based lending.
  • Strong leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary finance teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CFA, Master's in Finance, Energy Economics, or Petroleum Engineering.
  • GCC / MENA regional experience.
  • Experience within the Qatar Energy ecosystem is an advantage.
