Stevin Rock LLC is seeking a Foreman to lead and manage our load and haul crew at our flagship 70Mtpa limestone quarry. The successful candidate will oversee excavator operators and haul truck drivers, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
As the Foreman, you will play a vital role in our Static Plant department, managing and motivating a team of excavator operators and haul truck drivers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the load and haul crew, maximizing productivity and safety. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the load and haul crew, including excavator operators and haul truck drivers.
- Ensure optimal performance and efficiency of the crew, meeting production targets.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve operations.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, identifying and addressing any maintenance issues promptly.
- Coordinate with other departments and supervisors to ensure seamless quarry operations.
- Train and develop team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Implement best practices and innovative strategies to enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and oversee equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as per company standards.
Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a quarrying or mining environment, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of quarry operations, including load and haul processes.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts and night work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and certifications as required.
