Company Description Al Sanawbar School is the oldest K–12 American curriculum school in the Eastern Region of Al Ain City, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site High School English Teacher role based in Al Ain. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging English language and literature lessons aligned with the American curriculum, including reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans and assessments, grading student work, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of progress. The teacher will manage classroom behavior, differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and integrate technology and varied teaching strategies to support student engagement. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues, communicating regularly with parents and guardians, participating in school events and professional development, and contributing to a positive, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to design and deliver high-quality instruction in English language and literature, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and critical analysis.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, respectful, and student-centered learning environment.
  • Competence in using educational technology and digital resources to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field; teaching certification or licensure aligned with K–12 or secondary education is preferred.
  • Experience teaching high school English, preferably within an American curriculum or international school context.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth, reflective practice, and staying current with best practices in English education.
  • Ability to relocate to and work on-site in Al Ain, with readiness to adapt to the local culture and school policies.
