As HVAC Technician, you are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal comfort and satisfaction for Guests and Team Members.

Responsibilities

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

  • Maintain HVAC Systems: Install, inspect, test, and maintain HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, ventilation units, and exhaust fans to ensure reliable operation and optimal performance.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and servicing to maximize equipment efficiency, reduce downtime, and extend the life of HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and Repair HVAC Equipment: Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and carry out repairs or replacements of motors, compressors, coils, belts, thermostats, refrigerant lines, and other HVAC components while following safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Inspect HVAC systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and environmental standards, while identifying and reporting potential hazards or system inefficiencies.
  • Respond to Service Requests and Emergencies: Attend HVAC-related service requests promptly and respond effectively to equipment failures, refrigerant leaks, ventilation issues, and other emergency situations to minimize operational disruption.
  • Document Maintenance Activities: Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, and completed work orders, while reporting issues requiring further attention.
  • Support Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Assist with energy management programs, HVAC system upgrades, and optimization projects to improve system performance and reduce energy consumption.
  • Assist with Special Projects: Perform additional maintenance duties and special projects as assigned by management to support the Engineering and Facilities team.

The Following Capabilities And Qualifications Would Be Advantageous

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to building services.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is an advantage.
  • Valid HVAC Technician Licenses.
  • Flexible to respond to changing operational requirements, including emergency call-outs and shift work.
