Role Overview
The IT Services and Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing all IT services and infrastructure across assigned venues and operational sites for a major international football tournament. The role ensures high availability, performance, and security of all technology systems, contributing to seamless event delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and end-user devices.
- Ensure reliable operation of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, and connectivity services.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements where necessary.
2. IT Service Delivery & Support
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to staff, stakeholders, and event personnel.
- Manage service desk operations, incident resolution, and request fulfillment in line with SLAs.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
3. Systems Administration
- Support and maintain core systems such as user access management, email, file services, and collaboration tools.
- Ensure proper configuration, patching, and updates of all systems.
- Maintain system backups and recovery procedures.
4. Event Technology Support
- Assist in the setup and operation of event-specific IT systems (e.g., accreditation, ticketing interfaces, media services).
- Support testing phases, rehearsals, and live event operations.
- Ensure all IT services are fully operational during match days and events.
5. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for infrastructure delivery and support.
- Work closely with internal technology teams and venue operations.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of complex technical issues.
6. Security & Compliance
- Implement and monitor IT security measures, including access control and endpoint protection.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and data protection standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to IT infrastructure and services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3-6+ years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or systems administration.
- Experience in large-scale events or multi-site environments is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.
