Role Overview


The IT Services and Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing all IT services and infrastructure across assigned venues and operational sites for a major international football tournament. The role ensures high availability, performance, and security of all technology systems, contributing to seamless event delivery.


 


Key Responsibilities


1. IT Infrastructure Management



  • Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and end-user devices.

  • Ensure reliable operation of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, and connectivity services.

  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements where necessary.


2. IT Service Delivery & Support



  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to staff, stakeholders, and event personnel.

  • Manage service desk operations, incident resolution, and request fulfillment in line with SLAs.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.


3. Systems Administration



  • Support and maintain core systems such as user access management, email, file services, and collaboration tools.

  • Ensure proper configuration, patching, and updates of all systems.

  • Maintain system backups and recovery procedures.


4. Event Technology Support



  • Assist in the setup and operation of event-specific IT systems (e.g., accreditation, ticketing interfaces, media services).

  • Support testing phases, rehearsals, and live event operations.

  • Ensure all IT services are fully operational during match days and events.


5. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination



  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for infrastructure delivery and support.

  • Work closely with internal technology teams and venue operations.

  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of complex technical issues.


6. Security & Compliance



  • Implement and monitor IT security measures, including access control and endpoint protection.

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and data protection standards.

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to IT infrastructure and services.


 


Qualifications & Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 3-6+ years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or systems administration.

  • Experience in large-scale events or multi-site environments is an advantage.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco) are a plus.


 


Key Skills



  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of networking, systems, and end-user support

  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills


 


Working Conditions
