Role summary

The Network & Security Engineer is responsible for maintaining the stability, performance, and security of the organization's core network infrastructure and remote sites, ensuring uninterrupted operations across all business services.

The role supports the installation, configuration, and ongoing management of network and security technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, application delivery controllers, and cyber defence platforms. It ensures compliance with defined security policies, implements change-controlled updates, and proactively monitors network performance to achieve high availability.

Additionally, the position focuses on fault analysis and resolution, network optimization, and the implementation of security controls, operating effectively within a high-pressure environment to meet business and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyzing and resolving faults within a structured environment.
• Routine preventative measures and the implementation of network security controls.
• Managing the Application Delivery Controllers (F5), Web Gateways & NDRs, EDRs.
• Manage APT and Cyber Defense Solutions (e.g. FireEye).
• Experience with network design and operations.
• Understanding of Video Codecs, IPTVs protocols.
• Working Knowledge of SIEM solutions.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure Security Protocols.

Role Requirements:

• Understanding of AAA protocol technologies (e.g. Cisco ISE).
• Experienced with Cisco Switching Familiea.
• Experienced with Wireless Controllers and AP's, Cisco CUCM, Firewalls.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of Network routing protocols that include - OSPF, BGP and MPLS.
• Knowledge of Worms, Malwares & APTs.
• Experience in SDN, SD-Access, SDWAN, ACI and network automation concepts.
• Network Monitoring and Management.
• High proficiency in communication skills, written and spoken are essential.
• Experience within network and security operations management or a customer support role.
• Industry Qualifications (CCIE, CCNP, NSE8 etc.).
• Microsoft, VMWare skills.
• GRC and Cyber Security knowledge.
• University Degree in a relevant IT discipline.
