Purpose:
The purpose of the Nurse role is to provide standard clinical nursing care to all members of the AUC community, ensuring effective quality patient care, which includes being on call to respond to and manage medical emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care: Provide standard, ethical clinical nursing care, which includes patient assessment, preparation for examinations, and the safe administration of treatments and medications
- Emergency Response and Coverage: Act as the first responder in medical emergencies and provide necessary medical coverage for university events, including sports and off-campus activities
- Documentation and Coordination: Maintain clear, accurate, and timely patient records, manage appointments, and coordinate sample collection and result sharing with physicians and external labs
- Equipment and Inventory Management: Ensure the proper functioning and readiness of medical equipment and examination rooms, manage the medical supplies inventory, and ensure adherence to medication validity dates
- Compliance and Teamwork: Follow strict infection control policies, maintain patient privacy and safety, and work cohesively with the entire medical team to ensure efficient delivery service
- General Administrative Support: Perform other related duties as requested
Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field is required
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience is essential
Skills:
Clinical and Technical Skills:
- Excellent clinical nursing skills are mandatory
- Basic computer skills are required
Communication and Interpersonal:
- Requires good written and spoken English and Arabic
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for dealing effectively with patients and the medical team
Professionalism and Compliance:
- Ability to maintain patient privacy, security, and safety
- Must strictly adhere to all relevant legislation, codes of practice, and Infection Control Policies
