Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Primary Design Section Head to lead and manage the primary engineering design activities. The successful candidate will oversee a team of engineers, ensure compliance with international and locais standards, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for large-scale substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and supervise the Primary Design Department for HV substations.
- Oversee preparation and review of SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, equipment sizing, and technical specifications.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and performance management for the engineering team.
- Review and approve vendor drawings, equipment datasheets, and engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with secondary design, civil, protection, and project management teams to ensure integration of designs.
- Support tenders, proposals, and provide technical input for new projects.
- Conduct design reviews, audits, and ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 1012 years of experience in HV substation primary design, with at least 5 years in a leadership/management role.
- Expertise in both AIS and GIS substations (up to 380kV or higher).
- Strong knowledge of international design standards and local utility requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and electrical calculation/design software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience in EPC or consultancy firms with large-scale utility projects is highly desirable.
