Job Description


This role is accountable for the execution of assigned projects as per contract requirements and project guidelines in an efficient and cost effective manner, contribute to a consistent and profitable project pipeline by providing engineered support and solutions and responsible for the achievement of the Business plan as agreed and approved by the Line Manager.


  • Accountable for the end to end management of projects from Award to Execution phase of the project.
  • Responsible for Business Development and revenue generation by providing engineered solutions.
  • Accountable for the execution of operational works, on multiple sites from handover through to project closure including Installation, Procurement, Mobilization, Commissioning, Monitoring and Demobilization.
  • Identify and secure new projects by generating new leads and converting these for project award.
  • Responsible for the bidding for projects which will include but not limited to collection of documents, organize material for presentation and conducting final negotiations to effectively close the deal as per the Tender/Authority Matrix.
  • Prepare cost estimates and technical sales proposals by studying specifications, plans, and related tender documents as outlined and in accordance with the Tender/Authority Matrix.
  • On contract award carry out a formal handover to Operations in line with company policy, procedures and systems.
  • Accurately forecast monthly and quarterly revenue streams.
  • Monitor the collections process and provide regular updates on outstanding and overdue debts to the Line Manager and Finance.
  • Oversee the operations team to ensure all work activities are planned and carried out in accordance with the Method Statement, contracted scope of works, best practices and client obligations.
  • Any site observations to variances to be reported and discussed with the LM.
  • Familiarize and acquaint yourself with the prescribed mandatory site reports and the preparation and updating of such reports in a timely manner.
  • Make a deliberate effort to gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Company's QHSE Policies and Procedures and adherence to the same.
  • Maintain good working relationship with all parties at all levels and times when representing the Company, Sub-Contractors, Staff and third parties.
  • Set direction and objectives for team members and ensure achievement of their development plans, including recruitment, development and mentoring.
  • Identify & address problems and opportunities; brings those which are appropriate to the General Manager / Line Manager; and, facilitates discussion & deliberation.


  • Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential, current customers and other relevant individuals or bodies in a position to carry out such service requirements.
  • The role would interface with customers to deal with customers, establishing their needs and working closely with the experienced team to engineer most effective solutions.
  • On contract award and in conjunction with the Technical Team, ensure all documentation required for execution (Method statement, drawings, design calculations) are prepared in line with contract requirements.
  • Liaise with the Design & Bid Team to obtain technical and commercial expertise, coordinating follow-up meetings with the client as necessary and submission of final tender documentation in a timely fashion and in accordance with the Tender/Authority Matrix.
  • Follow developments of market trends, competitors and industry developments as outlined.
  • On contract award and in conjunction with the Commercial Team and Line Manager, ensure the sub contract agreement is in line with the quoted scope of works and all other terms and conditions are in line with company policy and best practice.
  • Providing technical support to our operation teams and customers.
  • Review sales enquiries as per the enquiry matrix.
  • Gathering of Market and Customer Information.
  • Maintain and update records of customer communication and all sales activity in the system.

Project Operations and Delivery

  • Work with the relevant internal departments to ensure project schedules and deliverables are being met as per defined timelines.
  • Accountable to ensure all work activities are planned and carried out in accordance with the Method Statement, contracted scope of works, best practices and client obligations. Any variances are to be compiled in conjunction with the Commercial team prior to execution.
  • Ensure the following documentation is maintained for all projects (filed on the server in the allocated location).
  • All incoming correspondence.
  • All outgoing correspondence.
  • Quotation and Contract copy.
  • Method Statement and Design.
  • Payment Applications and Invoices.
  • Operations and Site Documentation.
  • Participate in meetings with clients regarding project progression and performance on site, as and when required.
  • Participate in project review meetings with the Line Manager to aid in decision making on project performance, challenges and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Understand the purpose of the following site documentation and ensure this is maintained for assigned all projects:

o Delivery Notes.

o Installation Reports.

o Start Reports.

o Damage Reports.

o Stop Reports.

o As Built Drawings.

o Manpower Record.

o Daily Activity Reports.

o System History Reports.

o Tool Box Talks.

Support the Line Manager in reviewing and developing the following Produce the following reports to the Line Manager :

o Project Status Report - Daily

o Project Profitability Report - Weekly

o Manpower Allocation / Requirements Monthly


  • Ensure safety targets and a zero tolerances for unsafe working practices and conditions.
  • Ensure that all requests to perform unsafe work practices that may result in damage to machinery, people or property are declined.
  • Prior to the commencement of site works, gain an understanding of the relevant project specifications and requirements.
  • On an ongoing basis, monitor all works against specifications to ensure the quality and accuracy of work performed is as per company standards.
  • Notify the Line Manager of any defects, mistakes, errors, contamination or variations identified.
  • Ensure all the applicable quality checklists are properly completed.


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, related degree or equivalent combination with knowledge of pump applications would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in a customer facing role with a construction or Pump industry with high turnover and activity.
  • Understanding of Equipment Rental and Pump Sales would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge on pipeline, pre-commissioning, sewage over pumping would be a definite advantage.
  • Background in operations, site management in a Construction / Pump industry.
  • Exposure in contributing to business development through applied Engineered solutions.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to efficiently analyze and organize significant amounts of information regarding operations and business development activities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems.
  • Excellent team skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively across variety of internal and external stakeholders.
