What you ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
Resilience Risk Lead Specialist, Payments Resilience & Transaction Processing Risk
Leading the regional oversight and stewardship approach of deep subject matter expertise for Transaction Process Risk and Payments resilience.
Providing issues, event and incident global thematic insight, expert analysis, oversight and opinion into governance, including thought leadership and deep specialist support to ERM and GB/GF stewards in region.
Providing advice, guidance and challenge to global businesses and functions, ensuring robust opinion is provided through governance.
Recommending risk appetite statements and thresholds for Transaction Processing Risk and Payments Resilience.
Engaging with risk owners, control owners and risk stewards to ensure Transaction Processing Risks are managed in accordance to policy.
Advocate and promote Transaction Processing Risk awareness and risk management culture in order to ensure that the material risks are both evident and effectively managed.
Identify any concerning trends and challenging the business or function to address these.
Recommending RCA scoping for Transaction Processing and Payments Risk and challenge where this is not appropriately applied.
Driving appropriate governance for Transaction Processing and Payments Risk across key stakeholders and senior control owners.
Reporting on risk and control profile, including impacts of external environment changes, emerging risks and changes to the business strategy.
Create and maintain influential relationships with senior control owners globally for Transaction Processing Risk and Payments Resilience.
Ensure critical issues both in key controls and material change programmes are understood by and escalated to appropriate governance forums (RMMs, CEMMs, etc.) for their appropriate and timely resolution.
Overseeing, escalating and providing guidance on the identification of conduct impacts across Transaction Processing risk and activities owned by the 1LOD, including where control weaknesses and risk events impact the delivery of good outcomes
Inform capital management and stress testing risk drivers to support accurate global and entity Transaction Processing inputs/outputs
Leadership & Teamwork
Leads and role model aligning with the Bank s strategy, behaviours and values; Promotes an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC Brand.
Challenges and influences to ensure effective specialist advice/guidance is provided to manage and quantify risk exposure.
Partners with 1LOD functions responsible for Transaction Processing Risk and Payments Resilience to ensure a strong risk management culture and behaviours is effective and embedded.
Works effectively with Group and Regional Enterprise Risk Management and Resilience Risk team.
Close working and influential relationships with senior stakeholders of the 1LOD functions responsible for Transaction Processing Risk and Payments Resilience.
The role holder is required to maintain awareness of regulator and industry body direction in respect of non-financial risk and policy developments for Operational and Resilience risks.
Requirements
Expert level of the internal business control management knowledge
Expert level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience in Transaction Processing or Payments Resilience is desirable.
Experience of payments or global operations activity is desired.
Ability to communicate effectively, building strong relationships and influencing key senior internal and external stakeholders - by articulating compelling arguments, positions, strategy, and vision.
Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor, technological landscapes etc.)
Ability to challenge practices and capabilities while maintaining a strong working relationship with the teams involved.
Effective management of time to work across multiple disciplines, time zones, etc
Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to dynamically adapt interpersonal style to build effective relationships.
Understanding and applying risk management in context
