We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Avionics Engineer – A330 to join our Engineering team. The role will support both Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) activities and active Line/Base Maintenance operations, ensuring the technical integrity, reliability, and continued airworthiness of the Airbus A330 fleet's avionics, electrical, and cabin electronic systems.
The successful candidate will provide high-level technical support for maintenance operations, including O, I and D Level maintenance where applicable, and will act as a technical focal point for complex avionics-related issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- A330 type rating is mandatory
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in an airline, MRO, Technical Services, CAMO, Base Maintenance or Line Maintenance Engineering environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of Airbus A330 avionics and electrical systems, including Fly-By-Wire, Autoflight, Navigation, Communication, EFIS, ADIRS and Central Maintenance Systems.
- Proven experience using Airbus technical documentation, including AMM, IPC, TSM, ASM, ESPM and SRM.
- Experience in defect investigation, reliability monitoring, troubleshooting and technical reporting.
- Previous A330 MRTT experience will be considered a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of military aircraft maintenance operations and special mission systems is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other regulatory or manufacturer requirements related to A330 avionics systems.
- Prepare and issue Engineering Orders and technical instructions in line with applicable airworthiness requirements.
- Analyze fleet technical data, pilot reports, repetitive defects and reliability trends to identify corrective actions and improve fleet performance.
- Support the review and optimization of the avionics and electrical sections of the Aircraft Maintenance Programme.
- Evaluate and support the implementation of modifications, STCs, software configuration updates and avionics system upgrades.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting guidance to Line and Base Maintenance teams for complex or recurring avionics defects.
- Support AOG recovery by coordinating with Airbus Technical Support, OEMs and internal maintenance teams to expedite technical solutions.
- Monitor and manage MEL deferred defects, ensuring compliance with rectification intervals and operational requirements.
- Ensure engineering data, repairs and alterations comply with EASA Part-CAMO, Part-145 or applicable local authority requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical records and support internal and external airworthiness audits.
- Liaise with OEMs, including Airbus, Thales, Honeywell and other system suppliers, on technical queries, reliability issues and warranty claims.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for avionics maintenance issues, supporting quality, safety and effective repair solutions.
- Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with departmental policies, standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
