The Senior Director of Audit & Assurance will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic direction and operational excellence of the audit practices, with a particular emphasis on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Zakat, and the requirements of listed companies. The incumbent will be responsible for managing a diverse team of audit professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role demands advanced proficiency in audit methodologies, a deep understanding of financial reporting, and strong leadership capabilities to drive the development and implementation of innovative audit strategies that enhance service delivery and client satisfaction. The Senior Director will act as a key liaison between clients and regulatory bodies, fostering relationships that ensure compliance and best practices while promoting the organizational values of integrity, collaboration, and excellence.

Job Requirements:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in audit and assurance, including substantial experience in a leadership role within a reputable accounting firm.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of IFRS, Zakat regulations, and compliance requirements for listed companies.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale audits and assurance projects, including budget oversight and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional understanding of risk assessment processes and the ability to develop comprehensive audit plans that align with organizational objectives.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experienced in leading, mentoring, and developing audit teams to achieve high performance and professional growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the audit and assurance function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Zakat, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of innovative audit methodologies and tools that improve efficiency and effectiveness in audit processes.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored audit solutions.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies while fostering a culture of compliance and ethical responsibility within the audit team.
  • Provide expert guidance and technical support to team members on complex audit issues, promoting continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to drive initiatives that enhance the quality of audit practices.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively adjusting audit strategies and practices to address emerging risks and challenges.
