Senior Engineer, Electrical Maintenance (Elect Maint Sect - PG - Das)

JOB PURPOSE

Provide expert engineering technical support to ensure that electrical equipment, electrical distribution network
and SCADA system of Plants are operated and maintained in line with best world-class practices and standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintenance Planning, Execution and Expertise
u2022 Provide technical input to update company Specifications to incorporate the latest industry trends and
Companyu2019s lessons learned.
u2022 Troubleshoot and analyse complex engineering problems and offer effective resolutions to ensure that
maintenance services are provided safely and efficiently.
u2022 Represent the Plant in the Power GRID for power co-ordination and studies.
u2022 Co-ordinate with ADNOC Refinery/GUP for any work and switching activities.(Specific to Ruwais).
u2022 Co-ordinate with TRANSCO / ADWEA / ADNOC-OS / Habshan-5 (SGP) any work and switching
activities.(Specific to Habshan/Bab).
u2022 Witnesses as required, the Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, pre-commissioning and commissioning
of equipment / systems and assures that installation / performance are in accordance with specifications
and approved for construction documents.
u2022 Maintain Electrical equipment in line with HSECES guidelines and ensure compliance to MAT
requirements.
u2022 Carry out periodical review and advice on updating material stock and directs revision of specifications.
in light of information from manufacturers including deletion obsolete & incorporation of new items,
ensure availability of spares & materials.
u2022 Closely monitor the Electrical contractor activities, by conducting audit and weekly meeting to highlight
their shortfalls/drawbacks and suggest improvement for the effective implementation of scope in line
with the Service Agreements.
u2022 Diagnose, analyse and carry out root cause failure analysis, highlight reasons for equipment failure and
advice on remedial measures to avoid failures. Also to study and carry out residual life assessment of
critical electrical equipment and suggest corrective action to be initiated by respective area engineers.
u2022 Monitor and analyze failure reports, identify bad actors (RCA) and initiate corrective actions and develop
solutions to rectify the problems and improve the performance.
u2022 Compile/provide input for preparation of Division/department Capital, EOM, MM, Operating, and 5 Yearbusiness
Plan budgets, and monitor/control expenditures.
u2022 Ensure the availability and reliability of Electrical system/equipment.
u2022 Ensure smooth integration of new facilities such as modification/up gradation of existing facilities and
addition of new trains.
u2022 Conduct site engineering study to determine the feasibility of introducing modification to increase
reliability and efficiency of the plant.
u2022 Initiate and review plant change requests as per company procedure to equipment, units and plants
as well as conduct site engineering studies to determine the feasibility of introducing modification and
incorporate the same to increase reliability and efficiency of plant.
u2022 Study and carry out residual life assessment of critical electrical equipment and suggest corrective
action to be initiated by respective area engineers.
u2022 Develop scope of work for major overhauls of electrical equipment & work service orders and
mini projects, coordinate implementation with other Sections.
u2022 Provide support to technical and minor projects for developing scope, execution & commission. To
compile/provide input for preparation of division/department Capital and Operating budgets and
monitor annual expenditure budgets.
u2022 Develop and optimise Vendor, OEM and specialist contractor support and arrange specialist services.
u2022 Carry out Technical Evaluation of bids related to Service Work Orders and Service Agreements.
u2022 Evaluate and ensure that the Contractors designs are in accordance with the scope of work and facilities
delivered to end-user are safe, reliable, operable and maintainable.
u2022 Develop comprehensive monthly & Annual Management Information System report covering all the
major activities of the section, including expenditure profile and prepare various other presentations/
reports as and when required.
u2022 Follow the guidelines mentioned in Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) Electrical Safety Procedures(ESP) to
ensure safe handling of all fixed and portable electrical equipment for both employees and contractors
working at facility.
u2022 Coordinate with Projects, Engineering and Integrity & OE divisions (TE, OE, PX) for any studies / site
related issues/ project scope development.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualification
u2022 Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
u2022 8 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of Electrical equipment within a large industrial
organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
u2022 Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to the oil & gas industries (API, ANSI, NEMA,
NFPA, NEC/IEC, etc.) required
u2022 Good knowledge about monitoring and predictive maintenance programs associated with electrical
systems
u2022 Knowledge about specification of Transformers, switchgears, motor controls, protection control system,
SCADA system and variable frequency drives.
u2022 Fair knowledge and experience on PLC integration with Power Management System with latest
technology communication protocols.
u2022 Expertise in resolving complex Engineering and maintenance issues such as HV installations and
Protection, Electrical automation and power control systems, electrical variable speed drives, UPS, etc.
u2022 Good knowledge about electrical safety requirements and HSE procedures & practices
u2022 Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Co-ordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording
