Job Description
We are seeking a motivated *Linux/Unix & Automation Senior Engineer* to join our Linux Team in Cairo. This position involves maintaining the smooth operation of our Linux systems, enhancing automation processes, and resolving any issues that may arise. The role requires readiness to support incidents as per the on-call procedure
Responsibilities
- Maintain the smooth operation of Linux/Unix systems deploy new Virtual Machines according to Process and Business Needs.
- Follow change management procedures to implement system changes.
- Enhance and automate processes using Ansible and other Automation Tools.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure.
- Ensure security best practices are followed for system hardening and access control.
- Manage configuration, patching, and updates across servers.
- Participate in DR Failover and Switchovers.
- Be available to support incidents according to the on-call schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in Linux Systems Administration (especially Red Hat distributions).
- Solid background in automation using Ansible, bash scripting or python.
- Understanding of networking, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Web server management experience like Tomcat, Apache HTTP and Nginx.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Understanding of Virtualization Technologies.
- Very good Command of English Language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite.
- Knowledge on Oracle Solaris on SPARC will be considered a huge Plus.
- Windows administration.
- Knowledge on WebLogic Administration.
- Knowledge on Containerization Technologies and Orchestration like Kubernetes or APIGEE.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies is a bonus.
- Experience with monitoring tools like PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus is a plus.
- Knowledge of High Availability Clustering, like Redhat Pacemaker.
- Knowledge on DBMS like Oracle and MySql is a Plus.
