Job Description

EELAF is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Specialist to manage and coordinate local and international logistics operations across the company's distribution business.

The role is responsible for ensuring that purchase orders, supplier readiness, freight arrangements, customs clearance, warehouse coordination, and customer deliveries are completed accurately and on time. The successful candidate must have strong follow-up skills, solid experience in import operations, and the ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, finance, sales, operations, and warehouse teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics activities for local and international orders.
  • Follow up with suppliers regarding purchase orders, production status, readiness dates, packing lists, and shipping documents.
  • Arrange sea, air, and land freight shipments based on cost, urgency, and delivery requirements.
  • Request and compare freight quotations from shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transportation providers.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of imported shipments.
  • Review shipping and customs documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and airway bills.
  • Ensure that all documents are complete and compliant before shipment departure.
  • Coordinate supplier payments and shipping-related payments with the Finance Department.
  • Track shipments from supplier collection through customs clearance and final warehouse delivery.
  • Update shipment status, expected arrival dates, clearance status, and delivery plans in the company's ERP system.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team regarding receiving schedules, unloading requirements, and discrepancies.
  • Manage local transportation and customer delivery arrangements.
  • Follow up on delayed shipments and escalate critical risks before they affect customer commitments.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Operations teams regarding the status of open orders and expected delivery dates.
  • Maintain accurate logistics records, shipment files, and supporting documents.
  • Review freight, customs, transportation, and handling costs and ensure they are correctly allocated to each order.
  • Prepare regular logistics reports covering open shipments, expected arrivals, delays, risks, and outstanding actions.
  • Monitor logistics providers performance and recommend improvements.
  • Support inventory transfers between warehouses and company locations.
  • Handle damaged, short, or incorrect shipments and coordinate claims with suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, customs regulations, and import requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, import operations, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
  • Strong experience in sea and air freight shipments.
  • Good knowledge of import documentation and customs clearance procedures in Egypt.
  • Experience dealing with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and transportation companies.
  • Strong understanding of Incoterms.
  • Ability to review shipping documents and identify errors before shipment.
  • Strong follow-up, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and shipments simultaneously.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems; Odoo experience is preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in electrical, IT infrastructure, ELV, electronics, or B2B distribution companies.
  • Experience handling shipments from China, Europe, the GCC, and other international markets.
  • Experience coordinating shipments for multiple branches or countries.
  • Knowledge of landed-cost calculations and logistics cost allocation.
