We're Hiring: Sn. Machine Design Engineer
Location: Alexandria
Job Type: Full-time – On-site
We're looking for a Machine Designer to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems, with a strong focus on precision, manufacturability, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
What You'll Do
● Design and develop machines, mechanisms, and assemblies with attention to accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
● Perform stress analysis, kinematics, dynamics, and fatigue assessments to ensure safety and performance.
● Prepare detailed CAD models, assemblies, technical drawings, BOMs, and work instructions in compliance with ISO/ASME standards.
● Apply GD&T principles to ensure tolerance control and dimensional accuracy.
● Integrate design features for sheet metal, weldments, castings, forgings, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, controls, and manufacturing) to ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems.
● Support prototyping, testing, and design validation activities.
● Manage documentation, version control, and revisions using PLM/ERP systems.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience:
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
● 7–15 years of experience in machine design, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment.
● Preferred: Hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, prototyping, and automation projects.
Technical Skills:
● Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (parts, assemblies, drawings, iLogic, Frame Generator), AutoCAD Mechanical, and Vault.
● Knowledge of FEA, CFD, and thermal simulations for design validation.
● Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and rapid prototyping.
● Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM, OSHA).
● (Bonus: Experience with VB.NET, macros, or design automation tools).
Administrative & Project Skills:
● Strong project planning, scheduling, and reporting capabilities.
● Effective documentation and version control practices.
● Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers.
Language Skills:
● Strong command of English — capable of reading, writing, and presenting technical content clearly.
Abilities & Traits
● Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to interpret complex technical data and optimize designs.
● Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new tools and methods.
