Job Purpose:

The Master Data Manager will be responsible for leading the operational and governance activities of the Master Data Management program across DHLE. This role ensures that data owners, stewards and business teams are aligned, that issues are followed up and resolved, and that master data processes run on a day-to-day basis. The Master Data Manager will coordinate alignment activities, support the creation and validation of data scenarios and decision frameworks, and maintain oversight of reconciliation progress and priorities. This position plays a central role in sustaining MDM operations after by ensuring strong governance, consistent collaboration and timely decision-making across all involved stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day to day coordination of master data governance activities, ensuring processes are followed consistently across all business units.
  • Ensure key data elements have clear rules, definitions and ownership and that these are applied across all systems and workflows.
  • Maintain an active view of data priorities, emerging issues and required decisions, and ensure they are addressed by the right stakeholders.
  • Support the ongoing refinement of business rules, data scenarios and validation logic based on evolving operational needs.
  • Monitor data quality issues raised across the organisation and coordinate their resolution with data owners, stewards and technical teams.
  • Maintain a structured tracker of all open items and ensure timely follow up, closure and communication of progress.
  • Work closely with operational teams to understand data pain points, validate root causes and ensure solutions are aligned with business processes.
  • Oversee data reconciliation activities and ensure that priorities are clearly communicated and consistently executed.
  • Act as the central point of coordination between data owners, data stewards, governance, technical and operational teams to ensure alignment on decisions and responsibilities.
  • Facilitate smooth collaboration by providing clear updates, structured summaries and actionable next steps to all stakeholders.
  • Support onboarding of new teams or external authorities by clarifying expectations, timelines and data requirements.
  • Ensure master data processes, workflows and responsibilities remain up to date and consistently applied.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current data processes and propose improvements to optimize governance and operational effectiveness.
  • Support the preparation of materials, dashboards and reporting tools used to monitor progress, risks and performance indicators.
  • Maintain clear documentation, templates and guidance that support long term sustainability of the MDM operating model.

Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in business operations, data governance, master data management or related roles.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to manage data issues, align stakeholders and drive follow-up actions to closure.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement, operational oversight or structured tracking of priorities and decisions within an organisation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree or relevant professional certifications in data governance or project management are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of master data management concepts including data ownership, data definitions and data quality principles.
  • Ability to interpret data issues, identify inconsistencies and support the validation of business rules and data scenarios.
  • Proficiency in using data tracking, reporting or visualisation tools to monitor progress, priorities and operational indicators.
  • Familiarity with data workflows, operational processes and cross functional data interactions across business units.
  • Ability to document processes, business rules and responsibilities in a clear and structured manner.
