Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer who can take ownership of project execution, represent the team in front of clients, guide junior engineers, and deliver high-quality simulation work independently.

The role focuses primarily on Operator Training Simulator (OTS) projects, with opportunities to expand into Digital Twin and Monitoring Systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute Operator Training Simulator (OTS) projects from kick-off to client acceptance, ensuring quality and timely delivery
  • Participate in Kick-off Meetings (KoM), client technical discussions, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Develop and validate steady-state and dynamic simulation models for process systems
  • Integrate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) including Emerson DeltaV, Foxboro/Schneider Electric, Yokogawa, Siemens, and ABB
  • Build control emulation environments and implement PLC logic and Cause & Effect Diagrams
  • Perform thermodynamic and dynamic analyses, engineering calculations, and data reconciliation
  • Configure and support OTS architectures and related simulation environments
  • Mentor and support junior engineers on technical activities and project execution
  • Provide technical input and effort estimations for proposals and bids when required
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Process Simulation, OTS Configuration, or Process Plant Operations
  • Experience within Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, Power, or Water Treatment industries
  • Hands-on experience with one or more simulation platforms such as:
    • AVEVA Dynamic Simulation (Dynsim)
    • AVEVA Process Simulation
    • Aspen HYSYS
    • Aspen Plus / Aspen Dynamics
    • Honeywell UniSim
    • Equivalent simulation software
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, Control Narratives, and process documentation
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and work independently
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Willingness to travel and work on international assignments
Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Advanced Process Control (APC) and Real-Time Optimization (RTO)
  • Familiarity with Digital Twin solutions, Unified Engineering, and Asset Management systems
  • Exposure to Monitoring Systems such as Leak Detection, Performance Monitoring, and PEMS
  • Understanding of proposal preparation and bidding processes
