Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer who can take ownership of project execution, represent the team in front of clients, guide junior engineers, and deliver high-quality simulation work independently.
The role focuses primarily on Operator Training Simulator (OTS) projects, with opportunities to expand into Digital Twin and Monitoring Systems solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Operator Training Simulator (OTS) projects from kick-off to client acceptance, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Participate in Kick-off Meetings (KoM), client technical discussions, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Develop and validate steady-state and dynamic simulation models for process systems
- Integrate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) including Emerson DeltaV, Foxboro/Schneider Electric, Yokogawa, Siemens, and ABB
- Build control emulation environments and implement PLC logic and Cause & Effect Diagrams
- Perform thermodynamic and dynamic analyses, engineering calculations, and data reconciliation
- Configure and support OTS architectures and related simulation environments
- Mentor and support junior engineers on technical activities and project execution
- Provide technical input and effort estimations for proposals and bids when required
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Petrochemical Engineering
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Process Simulation, OTS Configuration, or Process Plant Operations
- Experience within Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemical, Power, or Water Treatment industries
- Hands-on experience with one or more simulation platforms such as:
- AVEVA Dynamic Simulation (Dynsim)
- AVEVA Process Simulation
- Aspen HYSYS
- Aspen Plus / Aspen Dynamics
- Honeywell UniSim
- Equivalent simulation software
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, PFDs, Control Narratives, and process documentation
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and work independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent English language skills
- Willingness to travel and work on international assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Advanced Process Control (APC) and Real-Time Optimization (RTO)
- Familiarity with Digital Twin solutions, Unified Engineering, and Asset Management systems
- Exposure to Monitoring Systems such as Leak Detection, Performance Monitoring, and PEMS
- Understanding of proposal preparation and bidding processes
