Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for delivering hotel and high-rise building projects safely, efficiently, and in line with project objectives. The role involves planning, scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, and technical oversight while ensuring compliance with quality standards, hospitality requirements, and high-rise construction regulations. The position supports the Project Manager in managing all operational aspects, including human resources, planning, cost and time management, contract administration, safety, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and system integration across complex vertical developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage hotel and high-rise building projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with architects, structural and MEP engineers, consultants, contractors, and hotel operators to develop detailed project plans and specifications.
- Supervise on-site construction activities, including structural works, façade systems, MEP installation, and high-end finishing.
- Plan and manage resources (labor, materials, equipment) to ensure efficient execution of multi-story and hospitality projects.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, delays, or technical issues, and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Oversee hotel fit-out works, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and FF&E coordination.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications, brand standards, and local regulations.
- Manage high-rise construction challenges, including vertical logistics, concrete cycles, curtain wall installation, and coordination of vertical transportation systems (elevators/escalators).
- Prepare and review project documentation such as contracts, change orders, method statements, and progress reports.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and project teams on progress, milestones, and deliverables.
- Control project budgets, track costs, and forecast expenditures to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
- Ensure compliance with fire & life safety codes, local authority regulations, and international hospitality standards.
- Promote and enforce HSE policies, ensuring a strong safety culture across all project activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and project delivery outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of total experience, including at least 5 years in hotel and/or high-rise building construction projects.
- Proven experience in delivering multi-story towers, mixed-use developments, or hospitality projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, MEP coordination, façade works, and high-end finishing.
- Experience in hotel fit-out and coordination with international operators/brands is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with fast-track project execution and phased handover strategies.
- GCC experience (minimum 2 years) is a strong advantage.
