Senior Traffic Engineer Infrastructure Projects | Expo 2030 Riyadh
We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to support major infrastructure works associated with the Expo 2030 Riyadh program.
The role involves planning, design review, and coordination of traffic and transportation engineering activities across large-scale infrastructure developments. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong experience working on complex urban infrastructure projects and stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead traffic engineering activities across major infrastructure packages.
- Review and coordinate Traffic Impact Assessments (TIA) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP).
- Develop and review traffic diversion and phasing strategies during construction.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including highways, utilities, and urban infrastructure.
- Interface with client authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi and international traffic engineering standards.
- Support contractor submissions and technical approvals.
- Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises.
- Provide technical guidance during construction phases.
- Monitor traffic performance and safety measures.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Traffic Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- or related discipline
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Mandatory registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Traffic Impact Studies
- Traffic Management Planning
- Urban infrastructure coordination
- Construction traffic staging
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering standards and regulations.
- Experience working in complex stakeholder environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on mega projects, smart cities, or large urban developments.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Saudi traffic and road authority requirements.
- Experience coordinating with public authorities and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Proficiency in traffic modeling tools such as: VISSIM, SIDRA, SYNCHRO, Aimsun is an advantage
Project Environment
The role supports major infrastructure delivery associated with the Expo 2030 Riyadh, involving multi-disciplinary coordination across roads, utilities, and urban infrastructure systems.
Candidates must demonstrate experience working within large infrastructure construction environments, not standalone building developments.
