Role Description The Showroom Cashier (Furniture) is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm 1st 6 October. The role involves greeting customers, answering basic product and pricing questions, and guiding them through the billing and payment process. The cashier is responsible for accurately processing sales transactions, handling cash, card, and digital payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining a balanced cash drawer. Day-to-day tasks include updating the point-of-sale system, coordinating with sales staff on orders, managing returns or exchanges according to company policies, and keeping the checkout area organized and presentable. The role also includes assisting with showroom administrative tasks, such as preparing simple reports, checking stock availability with the team, and ensuring that customers receive efficient and courteous service.
Qualifications

  • Point-of-sale and cash handling skills, including accurate billing, payment processing, and basic reconciliation of daily transactions.
  • Customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with visitors, respond to inquiries, and support the sales team.
  • Basic computer literacy, including use of POS software, email, and spreadsheets for recording sales and preparing simple reports.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple customers, maintain orderly records, and keep the checkout area tidy.
  • Attention to detail and numeracy skills to minimize errors in pricing, discounts, and documentation.
  • Ability to work on-site in Qesm 1st 6 October on a full-time schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed.
  • Previous experience in retail, cashiering, or showroom roles is preferred, especially in furniture or home décor.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in sales, accounting, or retail operations is an advantage.
