We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist – Accident & Emergency Medicine to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide immediate assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with acute illnesses, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based emergency care within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessment, triage, diagnosis, and management of adult and pediatric patients presenting with medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies.
- Stabilize critically ill and injured patients using evidence-based emergency medicine protocols.
- Perform emergency procedures including airway management, endotracheal intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), procedural sedation, wound management, fracture reduction and immobilization, chest tube insertion, central venous access, and other life-saving interventions.
- Interpret laboratory investigations, ECGs, X-rays, CT scans, and other diagnostic studies to support timely clinical decision-making.
- Coordinate patient admissions, referrals, transfers, and discharge planning in collaboration with consultants and specialty teams.
- Manage cardiac, neurological, respiratory, pediatric, toxicological, and trauma emergencies.
- Respond effectively to mass casualty incidents, disaster preparedness activities, and hospital emergency response protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, procedures, and clinical outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff, trauma teams, ICU, surgery, radiology, laboratory, and other multidisciplinary departments.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health measures.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality meetings, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Adhere to Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and international patient safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency or postgraduate training in Emergency Medicine.
- Board Certification, Arab Board, European Board, American Board, UK CCT/FRCEM, Canadian Fellowship, Australian FACEM, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification in Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization clinical experience in a busy emergency department.
- Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS (preferred).
- Strong clinical expertise in emergency procedures, trauma management, critical care stabilization, and resuscitation.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, nights, and public holidays in a fast-paced emergency department.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in high-volume tertiary care hospitals.
- Expertise in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and emergency ultrasound applications.
- Familiarity with international emergency medicine guidelines and hospital accreditation standards (JCI).
