Job Description

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To act as the flight planning and overflight permits SME, ensure the safest and most efficient flight operation through the optimisation of the flight planning system and data, and provision of overflight permits. Also conduct and approve commercial route studies, airport categorisations, and technical analysis of new airports including onsite inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the company flight planning system, including the testing and validation of software updates, to ensure full compliance with both flydubai and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides a compliant and efficient flight planning provision to Flight Dispatch, in collaboration with Management. .
  • Manages the provision of scheduled and ad-hoc overflight clearances (including deconfliction) to ensure faultless delivery.
  • Reviews and approves all remedial actions for reported navigation related issues.
  • Approves and implements recommendations on applicable route analysis of current and potential destinations.
  • Endorses recommendations on categorisation of new flydubai destinations ensuring all company and regulatory requirements are met and carries out operational risk assessments where necessary.
  • Approves the recommendations of all flight operations to all network airports ensuring operational efficiencies.
  • Reviews and actions all relevant discussion points from discussions with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Represents the department and flydubai as required at relevant meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Coordinates with vendors for implementation of business requirements and system improvements.
  • Conducts on-site inspections of potential destinations and provides reports for consideration by key stakeholders.
  • Monitors current and upcoming regulations to ensure all navigational matters remain compliant, with particular focus on flight planning.
  • Maintains awareness of industry activities, and actively participate in research for future systems and enhancements.
  • Provides guidance and structured formal training and mentorship to the team ensuring continuous development of their knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
  • Fluent in English (other languages an advantage)
  • Experience in a Navigation Services or Dispatch/Ops Control based role (airline, military, or aviation focused vendor). Supervisory experience in a flight operations support role. Extensive flight planning experience (CAE FPM an advantage). System maintenance experience is essential. Extensive experience in the application and deconfliction of overflight permits (both scheduled and adhoc). Experience of undertaking desktop airport technical evaluations (on- site experience an advantage) Good aircraft performance knowledge (B737 knowledge an advantage). AIP knowledge and understanding. PANS OPS procedure design an advantage.

Isr Requirements

Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
