Job Title: Static and Package Equipment Specialist
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.
Job Purpose
Provide specialist engineering expertise for the selection, design, integrity, reliability, troubleshooting, inspection, maintenance, modification, and lifecycle management of static and package equipment across ADNOC Offshore assets. Ensure equipment reliability, safety, operational integrity, and compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, and oil & gas industry best practices.
Key Accountabilities
Static Equipment Engineering
Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for static equipment including:
- Pressure Vessels
- Heat Exchangers
- Columns and Towers
- Separators
- Drums
- Filters
- Storage Tanks
- Reactors
- Pig Launchers and Receivers
- Fired Heaters
- Flare Systems
- Pressure Relief Systems
Responsibilities
- Review and approve static equipment designs and specifications.
- Verify compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations.
- Support equipment sizing, material selection, and mechanical design reviews.
- Conduct fitness-for-service evaluations and remaining life assessments.
- Provide engineering support for equipment repairs and modifications.
Package Equipment Engineering
Provide technical expertise for package systems including:
- Gas Compression Packages
- Pump Packages
- Diesel Generator Packages
- Air Compressor Packages
- Nitrogen Generation Units
- Chemical Injection Skids
- Produced Water Treatment Packages
- Fuel Gas Systems
- HVAC Equipment Packages
- Water Injection Packages
- Utility Packages
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review package equipment specifications and datasheets.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
- Review supplier documentation and engineering deliverables.
- Ensure proper integration of package equipment into offshore facilities.
- Support installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
Technical Authority & Engineering Assurance
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC Offshore Engineering Standards.
- Review engineering design packages during:
- Conceptual Studies
- FEED
- Detailed Engineering
- EPC Execution
- Participate in technical reviews and engineering audits.
- Evaluate vendor deviations and concession requests.
- Support development and revision of engineering specifications and standards.
Reliability & Integrity Management
- Monitor equipment health and reliability performance.
- Support implementation of reliability improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures.
- Review inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Assess corrosion, erosion, fatigue, and material degradation issues.
- Support Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs.
Inspection, Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Provide specialist support during shutdowns and turnarounds.
- Troubleshoot operational and mechanical issues affecting static and package equipment.
- Review inspection findings and recommend repair strategies.
- Develop maintenance strategies and equipment preservation programs.
- Support inspection teams during major maintenance campaigns.
Project Engineering Support
- Provide engineering input for offshore brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Support equipment procurement and manufacturing oversight.
- Participate in:
- Design Reviews
- HAZOP Studies
- SIL Reviews
- Constructability Reviews
- FAT and SAT Activities
- Ensure project deliverables meet ADNOC and project requirements.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Interface with OEMs, suppliers, consultants, and EPC contractors.
- Review manufacturing and fabrication procedures.
- Witness shop inspections and testing.
- Participate in vendor qualification and technical audits.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements.
- Participate in:
- Risk Assessments
- Incident Investigations
- Hazard Identification Workshops
- Promote safe engineering practices and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Materials Engineering
- Equivalent Engineering Discipline
Preferred Qualification
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- API 510 - Pressure Vessel Inspector
- API 580 / 581 - RBI Certification
- API 653 - Storage Tank Inspector
- ASME Certification Knowledge
- NACE Corrosion Certification
- AMPP Certification
Experience
Minimum Experience
- 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years in static and package equipment engineering.
- Experience in offshore facilities and ADNOC or major operator projects preferred.
