Job Summary

The Strategic Alliance Manager – Middle East will be responsible for driving the overall commercial, strategic, regulatory, and operational performance of the Middle East business, with primary focus on Saudi Arabia and UAE. The role will own the territory P&L, annual budget delivery, business development initiatives, alliance management, product launch execution, and portfolio expansion activities.

The position will serve as the key interface between regional partners and internal cross-functional teams to ensure achievement of revenue targets, successful regulatory submissions and approvals, timely launches, supply continuity, and long-term growth of the company's business across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the Middle East territory, with primary focus on Saudi Arabia and UAE.
  • Deliver annual revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and profitability targets as agreed within the business plan.
  • Develop and execute annual territory business plans and budgets.
  • Drive achievement of sales forecasts, launch targets, market share objectives, and portfolio growth initiatives.
  • Monitor monthly business performance and implement corrective actions to address gaps against budget.
  • Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Develop strategies for government tenders, institutional business, and procurement opportunities.
  • Support partners in evaluating and executing tender opportunities.
  • Monitor tender awards, competitor activity, pricing trends, and market access developments.
  • Maximize tender participation and win rates while protecting profitability.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, partnering events, trade exhibitions, and meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Develop strong networks across pharmaceutical companies, distributors, regulatory agencies, consultants, and healthcare organizations.
  • Promote the company's brand, capabilities, and portfolio throughout the region.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in business development, partnership management, or strategic alliances within the pharmaceutical or generics industry.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and managing complex agreements, such as licensing, supply, or co-development deals.
  • Strong understanding of the generic medicines market, including regulatory requirements, supply chain dynamics, and competitive landscape.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Skills and Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical markets in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and broader GCC region.
  • Strong understanding of SFDA, MOHAP, GCC, MHRA, EMA, FDA, and international regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating product registration strategies, submission planning, lifecycle management, and launch execution.
  • Familiarity with government tenders, institutional business, pricing approvals, and market access pathways within the region.
  • Strong financial analysis and business case development capabilities.
  • Ability to assess commercial opportunities, partnership structures, investment returns, pricing strategies, and profitability impacts.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Legal, and Commercial functions.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing models, CDMO partnerships, technology transfers, and international supply chain strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and business analytics tools.
