Job Description

Supply Chain Specialist

Department: Supply Chain / Operations

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Purpose of the Role

To manage and coordinate day-to-day supply chain activities including order processing, procurement, logistics, inventory control, and documentation. The Supply Chain Specialist plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, timely product availability, and excellent service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

Order & Procurement Management

Create and manage purchase orders in ERP system.

Monitor supplier confirmations, shipping documents, and delivery schedules.

Coordinate with global and local suppliers to ensure timely inbound shipments.

Logistics Coordination

Organize and follow up on imports, customs clearance, and domestic deliveries.

Liaise with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and customs brokers to manage shipment flows.

Ensure proper documentation: packing lists, invoices, CoA, BoL, etc.

Inventory Control

Track stock levels, support inventory accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.

Monitor slow-moving and aging stock and propose corrective actions.

Collaborate with warehouse and QA teams to ensure proper storage and handling.

System & Reporting Support

Maintain up-to-date data in ERP system (item master, lead times, MOQ, etc.).

Generate operational reports (stock status, inbound schedules, delivery performance).

Assist in monthly KPI reporting and S&OP preparation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, QA, and Finance to ensure supply continuity.

Support the team in resolving supply or logistics-related issues.

Actively contribute to process improvement and cost-efficiency initiatives.

Key Competencies and Skills

Strong organizational and coordination skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

Working knowledge of ERP systems (JDE is preferred)

Good understanding of import/export processes and Incoterms

Strong Excel and data handling skills

Fluent in English

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

5–6 years of experience in supply chain, preferably in chemical, pharma, or FMCG industries

Experience working with freight, customs, and warehousing partners

Exposure to international shipping and regulatory documentation is a plus
