A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead its accounting function and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records. This role is critical in managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls, while supporting leadership with reliable financial insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and fixed assets.
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and prepayments prior to final posting.
Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT regulations, and statutory filing requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes and follow-ups.
Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, monitor variances, and provide corrective recommendations.
Mentor and manage the accounting team, ensuring clear accountability, performance standards, and continuous development.
Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation within the finance function.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Strong background in financial reporting, audits, VAT, and statutory compliance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
Fluency in English and Arabic, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
