Maintenance Manager – Large Food Manufacturing Plant

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function of a large food manufacturing facility in Alexandria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all mechanical, electrical, utilities, and maintenance operations.
Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Maximize equipment availability and production line reliability.
Plan and execute maintenance shutdowns and major overhauls.
Analyze equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions.
Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, equipment uptime, and preventive maintenance compliance.
Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor activities.
Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality, and HSE standards.
Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects.
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience within a large manufacturing environment.
At least 5 years in a Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance leadership role.
Previous experience in the Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Beverage, Dairy, Frozen Foods, or Pharmaceutical industries.
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
Experience with CMMS, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Analysis.
Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good command of English.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with refrigeration systems, utilities, boilers, compressors, and production line equipment.
Knowledge of food manufacturing standards such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000.
Lean Six Sigma or TPM certification is an advantage.
