AWS Global Sales supports customers of all sizes across the region to innovate and grow in the cloud. As organizations across Sub-Saharan Africa increasingly adopt foundation models, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI, we are expanding our team of specialist sales professionals. We are seeking professionals who can help customers identify and prioritize AI use cases to create AWS opportunities, build sustainable pipelines, and guide customers through complex AI adoption journeys in sectors including financial services, mining, telecommunications, energy, retail, and the public sector.
As a Senior GenAI Sales Specialist, you will be at the forefront of driving adoption and revenue growth for AWS's Generative AI services across Sub-Saharan Africa. Your role will involve identifying high-value customer opportunities within your assigned territory and engaging with AWS customers to understand their needs and align them with AWS Generative AI solutions. You will leverage your consultative expertise to become a trusted advisor, guiding customers in embedding and deploying AWS Generative AI solutions to unlock new value streams and solve key business problems using AI capabilities. With a passion for developing high-potential opportunities and executing effective strategies, you will own the full-cycle sales engagement plan, from identifying qualified leads to realizing revenue. You will understand a customer's business initiatives, help craft account plans to achieve those initiatives, identify and drive opportunity win plans, and ensure successful launch to realize both customer vision and AWS revenue.
You will earn trust with Line of Business, Data Science, and IT personas. You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of AWS's Generative AI services and relevant cross-functional areas to build strong relationships with customers. You exercise Learn & Be Curious to articulate AWS GenAI strategy and the services we offer to accelerate these workloads. You conduct compelling executive conversations on the transformational possibilities of generative AI and data, while also being capable of helping our customers navigate which services to evaluate for their use-cases. You can describe the why and what of generative AI use case and technical solutions at a 200-level, with the detailed how being provided by solution architects.

Key job responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Contribution:
. Support the achievement of sales targets by developing and maintaining a healthy pipeline and guiding customers through end-to-end sales cycles, from discovery through to agreement
. Create detailed account plans and territory strategies in partnership with internal teams, while maintaining accurate forecasting using CRM tools
. Own the full-cycle specialist sales engagement plan for GenAI - from identifying qualified leads to realizing revenue across the Sub-Saharan Africa territory.

Technical Sales & Solution Advisory
. Act as a trusted advisor on AWS AI services, helping customers understand potential outcomes, value, and return on investment
. Lead technical discovery sessions and contribute to demonstrations and solution design, including model selection and deployment approaches
. Provide guidance on model evaluation, responsible AI practices, governance considerations, and relevant compliance requirements

Customer Engagement & Market Development
. Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and executive stakeholders through a consultative, collaborative approach
. Share customer insights and feedback with AWS AI product teams to help inform product direction and improvements
. Accelerate customer adoption by defining and implementing technology domain-specific GTM strategies within assigned accounts, leveraging AWS Sales and our partner ecosystem

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of experience in technology sales or business development, with a focus on enterprise or cloud services.
- Must have experience working with Data Scientist, Developers and Machine Learning professionals
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in enterprise software or cloud services.
- Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies, including Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts and applications.
- Experience in consultative selling and solution-based approaches to enterprise and mid-market customers on Generative AI. Deals are less transactional and require more time to pursue and complexity to close.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across the Sub-Saharan Africa region

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of AI/ML or GenAI sales experience, including selling foundation models, LLMs, or AI platform services
- Familiarity with Agentic AI patterns, multi-agent systems, and AI orchestration frameworks
