Job Summary

The Senior Manager, NNM CoE is an experienced member of the NNM CoE responsible for managing assigned governance, operational enablement and oversight activities for CIB non-vendor relationships and Nostro accounts. This role supports consistent execution across establishment, maintenance, review and closure activities through clear processes, reliable data, effective controls and transparent accountability.
The role implements approved policy, operating-model, service and procedural requirements through controlled, measurable and audit-ready delivery. It applies common standards for workflow execution, information quality, evidence retention, ageing, exception management, escalation, management information and continuous improvement across assigned services.
The role coordinates activities spanning onboarding and account opening, amendments, periodic reviews, renewals, service and account oversight, monitoring, reassessments, exception resolution, offboarding and closure. The role does not replace formal ownership: responsible business owners, Contract Owners and designated approvers retain accountability for their accounts and third party relationships.
Operating as a senior individual contributor, the role applies sound judgement, influences stakeholders without direct authority and demonstrates leadership through delivery ownership, subject-matter expertise, day-to-day guidance, coaching, quality review, knowledge sharing and timely escalation; and is expected to set a strong example, support colleagues and provide accurate visibility of service performance, control health, ageing, exceptions and material risks of the NNM CoE.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

Contribute to execution of the NNM CoE strategy by aligning assigned processes, controls, data and technology to approved priorities and service outcomes.
Assess the operational impact of changes in policies, standards, regulations, systems and operating models and support implementation within assigned services.
Maintain alignment between approved operating-model requirements, the service catalogue, process flows, Departmental Operating Instructions and day-to-day delivery.
Identify and progress practical opportunities to simplify processes, improve data quality and automate manual monitoring, reconciliation, evidence management and reporting.
Track agreed service, control and quality outcomes and escalate delivery risks or constraints to the Head of NNM CoE.

Business

Manage agreed service-performance measures covering demand, volumes, ageing, turnaround time, quality, control outcomes, exceptions and escalations for assigned activities.
Build effective working relationships across businesses, responsible owners, risk and control functions, Operations, service-delivery teams and relevant support functions.
Produce accurate and timely management information on control gaps, overdue dependencies, unresolved exceptions and emerging operational risks.
Reinforce service responsibilities and accountability boundaries with relevant stakeholders and delivery teams.
Lead resolution of day-to-day service issues within delegated scope and escalate material or cross-functional matters to the Head of NNM CoE or accountable owner.

Processes

Manage assigned non-vendor relationship establishment, maintenance and exit activities, including intake, due diligence and assessment support, approvals, workflow dependencies, readiness checks, reviews, renewals, reassessments, evidence validation and record completion.
Manage assigned activities across the end-to-end Nostro account lifecycle, including business justification, opening, activation, amendments, maintenance, periodic review, monitoring, suspension and closure.
Validate account documentation, mandates, authorised signatories, services, settlement instructions, static data and required approvals before implementation.
Maintain accurate Nostro account records covering ownership, purpose, status, entity and currency coverage, services, review dates, exceptions, ageing and outstanding actions.
Perform or coordinate reconciliations and data-quality checks, ensuring exceptions are evidenced, assigned, escalated and tracked to closure.
Execute CoE controls for intake, completeness, approval tracking, evidence retention, ageing, exception management, escalation and closure assurance.
Maintain current operating instructions, process flows, evidence standards and escalation routes for assigned activities.
Support implementation of approved process, control, system, ownership and regulatory changes, retaining records sufficient for governance traceability and audit readiness.

Expertise & Capability

Apply strong working knowledge of NNM CoE processes, controls, evidence standards, accountability boundaries and service requirements.
Demonstrate leadership as a senior individual contributor through personal ownership, clear communication, sound judgement and consistent delivery standards.
Provide day-to-day guidance and peer support to colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping resolve operational or control issues within area of expertise.
Review work for quality and completeness where assigned, provide constructive feedback and escalate recurring capability or delivery concerns to the relevant leadership chain.
Coordinate priorities and dependencies for assigned workstreams while maintaining accountability with the relevant formal owner.
Support onboarding, cross-training and knowledge transfer across locations and stakeholder groups.
Identify and progress practical process-improvement and automation opportunities.

Risk Management

Ensure operational, control and third-party risk issues are identified, recorded, assessed, escalated and tracked to closure by the accountable owner.
Maintain effective preventive and detective control coverage for Nostro accounts, including completeness, accuracy, authorization, status and system-record exceptions.
Ensure reconciliation controls are performed in accordance with documented methodology, frequency, evidence and escalation requirements.
Maintain appropriate challenge over incomplete, inconsistent or unsupported information.
Ensure material control failures, repeated exceptions, overdue activities and unresolved dependencies are escalated based on impact and ageing.
Strengthen audit readiness through complete records, documented decisions, retained evidence, transparent exception management and defensible reporting.
Protect the confidentiality, integrity and appropriate use of data and control information in accordance with Bank standards.

Governance

Operate within the approved governance framework and support its consistent application across assigned services.
Prepare inputs for operational, risk and management forums and participate when assigned.
Provide an accurate, evidence-based view of service performance, control health, ageing, reconciliation exceptions, lifecycle risks, evidence quality, material dependencies and decisions required.
Support maintenance and consistent implementation of policies, standards, Departmental Operating Instructions, process flows and service-catalogue commitments.
Communicate roles, decision rights and accountability boundaries clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Escalate material, overdue or repeated issues to the leadership chain, accountable owner or relevant governance forum according to impact, materiality and ageing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in banking, finance, operations, risk management or a related discipline.
Relevant training in third-party risk, operational risk and controls, account management, process governance, data quality or service management is desirable.
No mandatory licence required, subject to local regulatory requirements.
Professional membership is desirable but not mandatory.
Relevant risk, controls, operations, project, process-improvement or service-management certification is desirable but not mandatory.
Fluent written and spoken English; additional language capability is advantageous where relevant to the portfolio.
