Overview Of The Role:

The Commis is responsible for assisting the culinary team in producing food efficiently, following set standards, procedures, and cost guidelines. The role requires focusing on maintaining high-quality food production and adhering to safety standards. The individual will work closely with the Chef to improve culinary skills, manage food preparation effectively, and ensure a clean and safe work environment.

What You Will Do:

General

Cook and prepare food as per the production schedule assigned by the Chef.
Ensure all ingredients are available from stores and of good quality for timely food production.
Maintain food quality standards by following standard recipes and using correct ingredients.
Follow food safety rules and regulations to ensure safe production and storage of food.
Keep work station clean according to cleaning schedules.
Work with Chef to enhance knowledge and expertise in all areas of production.
Use equipment correctly and report any breakdown or failure to the Chef.
Attend and participate in training sessions as required.
Perform other related functions as assigned.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
Basic proficiency in using MS Office and related technology.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

Secondary Degree.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service environment, ideally in sales or hospitality.
Proficiency in communication, with the ability to speak, read, and understand English.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and computer literacy, specifically in MS Office.
