A Level French Teacher - Doha

August 2026

This British school is seeking an outstanding and experienced A Level French Teacher to join its Secondary department. The successful candidate will be a passionate linguist, committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with particular strength in preparing students for A Level examinations.

The post holder will inspire students to develop fluency, cultural awareness, and confidence in French, while fostering a genuine appreciation of language learning within a supportive and academically ambitious environment.

Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured French lessons across KS3, KS4 (IGCSE), and KS5 (A Level).

Prepare students effectively for public examinations, ensuring strong outcomes and exam technique.

Develop schemes of work aligned with the relevant examination board specification.

Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including EAL and high-attaining students.

Use a variety of teaching strategies to promote active participation, confidence, and communicative competence.

Integrate authentic materials and cultural enrichment into lessons to develop global awareness.

Assessment & Progress Plan and implement formative and summative assessments in line with departmental and whole-school policy.

Track student progress and use data to inform planning and intervention.

Provide high-quality, actionable feedback to support student improvement.

Prepare students for oral examinations with structured practice and confidence-building strategies.

Pastoral & Wider School Contribution Act as a form tutor, supporting the academic and personal development of students.

Build positive relationships with students and parents, maintaining open and professional communication.

Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, language clubs, trips, or cultural events.

Participate fully in departmental collaboration, planning meetings, and professional development.

Person Specification The successful candidate will:

Hold a relevant degree in French or Modern Foreign Languages.

Possess a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS or equivalent).

Have proven experience teaching A Level French.

Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and exam-board familiarity.

Show evidence of strong classroom management and inclusive practice.

Be reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous professional development.

Be enthusiastic about contributing to a positive, forward-thinking school community.

International School Experience Is Desirable But Not Essential.
