AC Senior Foreman

Purpose of the Job: To oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of air conditioning (AC) systems in a fleet of buses. This role ensures that all AC systems meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards while leading a team of technicians and coordinating with other departments to maintain optimal bus functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Leadership:Lead and manage a team of AC technicians and mechanics.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
• Conduct regular training sessions to ensure team members are up-to-date with the latest AC technologies and repair techniques.
• Maintenance & Repairs:Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of bus AC systems.
• Diagnose complex AC system issues and provide effective solutions.
• Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.
• Quality Assurance:Conduct regular quality checks on AC systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Inventory & Resource Management:Manage inventory of AC parts, tools, and equipment.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of required materials.
• Monitor and control maintenance costs within budget.
• Collaboration & Reporting:Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, safety, and procurement) to ensure seamless bus operations.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on AC system performance, maintenance activities, and team productivity.
• Provide recommendations for improving AC system efficiency and reducing downtime.
• Safety & Compliance:Ensure all AC maintenance and repair activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
• Conduct safety briefings and ensure the use of proper protective equipment.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulatory changes related to bus AC systems.

Qualifications:

• Education:Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in HVAC, automotive systems, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience:Minimum of 15 years of experience in AC maintenance and repair, preferably in the transportation or automotive industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Skills:Strong technical knowledge of bus AC systems and components.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex AC issues.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Certifications:HVAC certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable standing, bending, and working in tight spaces for extended periods.
