Job Summary
The Bank Accountant is responsible for managing daily and monthly bank reconciliations using SAP, ensuring accuracy between company accounting records and bank statements.
Key Responsibilities
Bank Reconciliation
- Perform daily bank reconciliation for all company bank accounts using SAP.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliation and ensure all balances match between SAP and bank statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as unidentified receipts, bank charges, direct debits, and outstanding transactions.
- Monitor and clear open bank items and ensure proper posting in SAP.
SAP Bank Accounting
- Post and process bank transactions in SAP (FI module).
- Execute and monitor Electronic Bank Statements (EBS) in SAP.
- Maintain bank clearing accounts and ensure proper reconciliation.
- Support the month-end closing process related to bank accounts in SAP.
Transaction Monitoring
- Review and reconcile daily bank inflows and outflows including payments, collections, transfers, and fees.
- Ensure proper recording of intercompany and interbank transfers.
- Validate payment postings from AP, AR, and Treasury modules.
Reporting
- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Maintain reconciliation schedules and documentation for audit purposes.
- Provide analysis of unreconciled or aged items.
Coordination
- Liaise with banks, treasury team, and finance departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Support internal and external auditors with bank reconciliation documentation.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and organized bank reconciliation records.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience
- 46 years of experience in accounting, with strong focus on bank reconciliation.
- Proven experience performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (FI Bank Accounting / Cash Management).
