About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Fixed Assets Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate fixed asset records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting financial reporting activities, and managing the end-to-end fixed assets lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate fixed asset records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting financial reporting activities, and managing the end-to-end fixed assets lifecycle. This role is ideal for professionals with 1-2 years of experience who are looking to grow their accounting career in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring all asset information is accurate and complete.
- Record asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and retirements within the accounting system.
- Calculate, review, and post monthly depreciation expenses in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Reconcile fixed asset balances with the General Ledger on a monthly basis.
- Review Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requests and ensure appropriate asset capitalization.
- Conduct periodic physical verification of fixed assets and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to fixed assets accounting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal control requirements.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing fixed asset records and supporting documentation.
- Monitor Construction-in-Progress (CIP) projects and capitalize assets upon project completion.
- Track and monitor asset movements across various locations and departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Fixed Assets Accounting or a similar accounting role.
- Experience working in corporate environments with substantial fixed asset portfolios is preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, fixed asset accounting, depreciation methods, and capitalization requirements.
