Role Description The Accountant – North Coast will oversee day-to-day accounting activities for projects and operations in the North Coast region, while being based on-site in Alexandria, Egypt. This is a full-time role responsible for recording daily financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining accurate general ledger accounts. The role includes monitoring accounts payable and receivable, matching invoices with supporting documents, and ensuring timely payments and collections. The accountant will assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, reconciliations, and budget vs. actual analyses. Additional responsibilities include supporting cash flow monitoring, coordinating with banks and vendors, ensuring compliance with internal controls and local regulations, and collaborating with project, procurement, and management teams to provide clear financial information.
Qualifications
  • Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic financial modeling).
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payment follow-up.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and cash flow tracking, ideally within a project-based environment.
  • Familiarity with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and basic compliance requirements in Egypt.
  • Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to interpret financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, project, and management teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA, or local equivalent) are a plus.
  • Previous experience in real estate, construction, or property management accounting is highly desirable.
