About the Role

As an Accounting and Tax Manager, you will empower UAE-based businesses by managing their accounts and guiding them towards growth. By providing clear and comprehensible financial reports each month, compliant with all applicable laws, you will foster a safe and trusted relationship between yourself, Bespoke Accounting, and the client.

You'll be responsible for within our accounting and tax function:

Overseeing and managing our accounting team, including, but not limited to: answering questions from the team, following up on the tasks assigned, etc.

Overseeing and managing clients relationships, in particular, making sure the financial reports as per agreements are delivered on time or update is provided, questions from the clients are dealt with in a timely manner, etc.

Managing invoicing process to the clients;

Managing agreements renewal process;

Provide consultations to the clients, including free consultations to prospective clients;

Assess any new accounting and tax services requests from the clients and processing them;

Assess current procedures in the recurring accounting and tax workflows, and make recommendations for improvements;

Assess whether any new software application can be utilised in order to increase efficiency in the firm;

Managing and overseeing AML compliance for our accounting and tax clients;

Develop staff (within accounting department) by managing performance, setting goals, managing ongoing training by conducting internal update sessions, and maintaining strong employee relationships;

Manage and execute accounting team meetings such as one-on-one catch up meetings, weekly team meetings, any learning sessions, monthly team lunches, quarterly team meetings.

What Your Day to Day Will Look Like

Reviewing clients financial reports that comply with IFRS standards, ensuring clarity and accuracy for client presentations.

Overseeing month-end closure tasks using practice management software, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Overseeing clients onboarding.

Collaborating with clients to gather necessary data for accurate reporting, addressing follow-ups promptly and professionally.

Analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues, leveraging your IFRS expertise to provide clear solutions.

Supervising the team to ensure financial statements meet the highest standards of accuracy and adherence to IFRS.

Ensuring compliance with UAE Corporate Tax (CT) and VAT regulations in all deliverables.

Identifying and implementing efficiency improvements in workflows and software applications, enhancing team productivity.

Conducting consultations with current and prospecting clients, including researching complex tax and IFRS-related queries for practical applications.

Coaching and mentoring junior team members by providing guidance on tax and IFRS application as well as professional growth.

Supporting communication efforts for annual fee adjustments with our accounting clients portfolio, ensuring alignment with firm policies.

What You Need to Succeed

Sound knowledge of IFRS supported by an accounting qualification such as ACCA / CMA / ACA;

Sound knowledge of accounting software applications, in particular, Zoho, Xero, QBO, Wafeq;

Min UAE experience of 2 years and sound knowledge of Corporate Tax (CT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations in the UAE supported by any applicable diplomas and / or certificates;

Sound knowledge of AML requirements for accounting and bookkeeping firms in the UAE;

Proficiency in Excel;

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing the team and client relationships;

Problem-solving skills to handle challenges;

Fluency in English, knowledge of Arabic or any other languages is a plus;

Tech savviness - being able to easily adapt to new software applications and compare their effectiveness with the others already in use.

Our Recruitment Process

1. Application Review: We carefully review all applications.

2. Initial Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an initial interview that is conducted online with our HR manager.

3. Online Test: An online test to check your suitability. The following areas will be tested: general IFRS application, VAT, Corporate tax, and attention to detail.

4. In Person Interview: Selected candidates will be invited for an in-person interview with the CEO of Bespoke Accounting.

5. Offer: The successful candidate will receive an offer and join our team.
