Role Summary
The Accounting and Governance Manager is responsible for overseeing the integrity of the company's financial records while establishing a robust framework of internal controls. You will bridge the gap between financial reporting and regulatory compliance, ensuring that the organization operates with transparency, ethics, and full legal adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and oversee general ledger integrity.
- Coordinate with external auditors and HO to facilitate annual audits and ensure zero material weaknesses in reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
- Ensure the company remains compliant with local and international financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, or SOX).
- Conduct regular internal audits to identify potential areas of financial risk or fraud.
- Maintain the Corporate Risk Register, tracking financial threats and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure proper Segregation of Duties across the finance and procurement departments.
- Work closely with interna audit and internal control team in identifying any new scopes or gaps and leading the mitigation plan
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Law.
- Certification: Active CPA, ACCA, or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is highly preferred.
- Experience: 5–8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a governance, audit, or compliance-focused role.
- Technical Skills: ERP systems (Oracle) and advanced Excel.
- Soft Skills: High ethical standards, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex legal/financial requirements to non-financial managers.
