Role Overview
Saudi Gold Refinery (SGR) is seeking a Accounting Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to lead the financial accounting function for our financial operations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls over inventory and activities. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise in IFRS and Saudi tax laws to support the company's growth within the Kingdom's mining value chain.
The Accounting Manager will report directly to the CEO and will play a key role in safeguarding assets and providing reliable financial data for strategic decision-making. This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage daily accounting operations while driving improvements in process efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the following key areas:
Financial Reporting
The role prepares monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and presents them to the CEO for review.
Inventory Control
This position reconciles financial ledger balances with physical vault records inventories on a weekly basis.
Tax Compliance
Ensures timely and accurate filing of VAT returns and withholding tax declarations in accordance with ZATCA regulations.
Audit Management
The role serves as the primary liaison for external auditors and facilitates the completion of annual and interim audits.
Team Supervision
This position supervises the accounting team by assigning tasks, reviewing work, and providing technical guidance on accounting standards.
Internal Controls
The manager designs and monitors internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Cost Analysis
This role analyzes operational costs to identify variances and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Treasury Support
The position manages bank reconciliations and supports cash flow forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
System Integration
The manager oversees the integration of financial data from operational systems into the ERP for accurate reporting.
Policy Development
This role develops and updates accounting policies and procedures to reflect changes in business operations and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university.
● Professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA is required.
● At least 10+ years of accounting experience with 3 years in a supervisory role.
● Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi Arabian tax laws including VAT and withholding tax.
● Experience in mining industry.
● Experience in inventory accounting within mining or industrial sector.
● Proficiency in ERP systems such as Odoo, Jisr.
● Excellent analytical skills and attention to accuracy in financial data.
● Fluency in English and Arabic language is required.
Success Metrics
● Timely completion of month-end close within 5 working days.
● Zero material adjustments in annual external audit reports.
● 100% compliance with ZATCA filing deadlines and e-invoicing rules.
● Daily reconciliation of precious-metal inventory values with zero unresolved discrepancies.
● Accurate and timely submission of VAT and withholding tax returns.
● Positive feedback from internal stakeholders on financial reporting clarity.
● Development and retention of a skilled accounting team.
