Although we are mainly based in Dubai, we have a network of branches and associates in other emirates of the UAE.
Our organisation is seeking to add to its team with an Accounting Senior who is semi-qualified (ICAI, ACCA or any other accounting institute) with a minimum of 5 years experience in an audit firm.
Role Description
As an Accounting Senior, you will be responsible for the following functions:
- Accounting for client transactions in the accounting software whilst ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Supervising journal entries, managing general ledger reconciliations, monitoring month-end and year-end closing processes, and supporting audit and assurance engagements where necessary.
- Preparing management reports, supporting financial planning, and contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
- Providing guidance to clients on taxation-related matters (including VAT and Corporate Tax) as well as general business advisory.
- Overseeing the implementation and optimisation of accounting software and internal controls.
Qualifications
- The candidate must have prior experience of working in an audit firm and should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, whilst undergoing their accounting qualification.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (Sage, Tally, ZohoBooks,etc).
- Strong technical accounting skills, including preparation and review of Financial Statements and management of Journal Entries (Accounting).
- Good knowledge of IFRS and UAE regulatory requirements; exposure to VAT and Corporate Tax compliance and reporting is necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage client relationships.
