About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist | Qatari to lead and oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payments and financial transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices and obligations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team to achieve departmental objectives and service standards.
- Review and approve vendor payments, reconciliations, and payment schedules in accordance with company policies and delegated authorities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and accounting policies.
- Monitor cash flow requirements and support treasury planning activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, resolving payment-related issues efficiently.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Support internal and external audit requirements by providing accurate documentation and reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen financial controls.
- Prepare management reports, analysis, and performance metrics related to accounts payable operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable operations, financial controls, and accounting principles.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
