The RoleWe are seeking an Acoustic Hardware Engineer / Electroacoustic Specialist to support the design, development, testing, and optimization of audio hardware and electroacoustic systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong knowledge of acoustic principles, transducers, audio electronics, measurement techniques, and product development.
You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, DSP, industrial design, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performing and reliable audio products.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electroacoustic hardware including speakers, microphones, transducers, amplifiers, and related audio components.
- Define acoustic and hardware requirements based on product, performance, and user-experience objectives.
- Conduct acoustic measurements, testing, characterization, and performance analysis.
- Evaluate frequency response, sensitivity, distortion, impedance, SPL, noise, resonance, and other relevant parameters.
- Support speaker enclosure, acoustic chamber, microphone, and mechanical integration decisions.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers on amplifiers, audio signal paths, power requirements, interfaces, and component selection.
- Work with DSP and firmware teams to optimize equalization, filtering, tuning, noise reduction, and audio performance.
- Develop test procedures, measurement methodologies, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Troubleshoot acoustic, mechanical, electrical, and system-level performance issues.
- Conduct prototype evaluation, validation, root-cause analysis, and design improvements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers on components, samples, tolerances, quality, and production requirements.
- Support product certification, reliability testing, design reviews, and manufacturing readiness.
- Research emerging acoustic technologies, materials, transducers, and audio engineering techniques.
- 3+ years of professional experience in acoustic engineering, electroacoustics, audio hardware, consumer electronics, or a related engineering field.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Strong understanding of acoustic principles, electroacoustic transducers, audio measurement, and hardware development.
- Experience with loudspeakers, microphones, amplifiers, acoustic enclosures, or audio systems.
- Familiarity with acoustic measurement equipment and analysis tools.
- Understanding of frequency response, distortion, impedance, sensitivity, SPL, signal-to-noise ratio, and related audio parameters.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and product development teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with CAD, simulation, audio analysis, or laboratory measurement tools is advantageous.
- Professional certifications are not required unless specifically requested.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
